About Catherine

Catherine was born in Kitchener-Waterloo, Ont., and raised in Daajing Giids, Haida Gwaii. She graduated from the Broadcast and Online Journalism program at BCIT in 2019 and was a reporter and anchor for Vista Radio in Prince George before joining the CKNW team in 2021. She won a silver medal in the Best in Multi-Culturalism category at the 2023 Canadian Online Publishing Awards for her local enterprise stories of the Russian war in Ukraine. Catherine joined the CityNews 1130 team in 2023 as an anchor and reporter. She has a passion for crime and environmental journalism, underdog stories, and covering Northern B.C. Outside of work, she is a competitive spoken word poet who loves video games and is a lifelong fan of the Vancouver Canucks.
