Maria was born in Romania and moved to British Columbia with her family at the age of five, living in Metro Vancouver.
Like many of her colleagues, she is a graduate of the Broadcast and Journalism program at BCIT.
She joined the CityNews 1130 team as an anchor in October 2022, and has filled in on various shifts including on the Morning Show. She became an Afternoon Drive anchor in January 2024.
Maria has an unwavering passion for covering local breaking news, and also enjoys telling community-based stories.
On her days off, you can catch her lifting weights in the gym, watching her favourite reality TV show, and spending time with her fiancé and their two cats.
