Charges laid against operator of stolen bike recovery website

NORTH VANCOUVER (NEWS1130)- A man who runs a website which claims to reunite cyclists with their stolen bikes has been arrested. Gordon Blackwell, 41, has been charged with 36 counts of possession of stolen property and one count of theft.

The North Vancouver RCMP investigation began over the summer and police say Blackwell was identified as a suspect in September.  RCMP say they found over 150 stolen bikes at Blackwell’s New Westminster warehouse. About 40 have been returned to their owners, but RCMP are still looking  to return the rest
