VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) – Canucks forward Alex Burrows has been fined for his rant to the media after the club’s loss to the Nashville Predators on Monday night. Burrows will pay $2,500 for his comments made towards NHL referee Stephane Auger.  But Auger is not off the hook, yet.

Burrows told the media that before the game Auger came up to him and said he was going to get him back for making him look foolish back on December 8th in Nashville when Burrows was hit by Jerrod Smithson who received a five minute penalty.

National Hockey League disciplinarian Colin Campbell will meet today with the officiating crew involved in the Vancouver-Nashville game Monday night. Campbell is expected to discuss any fines and/or suspensions that may be required after the accusations made by Burrows.
