Vancouver House aims to draw business

By

VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) – Located at LiveCity Yaletown, Vancouver House won’t exactly appeal to the whole family.

It should, though, catch the interest of green entrepreneurs.

The city expects Vancouver House will showcase the city as a green capital for foreign investors.

It will profile the work of what the city calls green capitalists.

“Protecting our environment while growing our economy right here in Vancouver. This is the story that we will tell at Vancouver House,” says Vancouver mayor Gregor Robertson.

Robertson hopes the facility will host a number of events for international business leaders.

And that could mean big investment in the region.

Robertson says the city is aiming for $10 million in new business over the next five years.

The pavilion, incidentally, is made of reclaimed pine beetle wood and recycled street banners.
