Many signs the Olympics were here, disappear

VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) – It’s all starting to return to normal as streets and venues are starting to reopen post-Olympics.

Not all the venues are needed for the Paralympics and traffic is expected to be closer to regular conditions this month with no special Olympic lanes or pedestrian corridors needed.

Streets around Canada Place downtown and BC Place all returned to normal yesterday, but sections of Pacific and Expo boulevards will stay closed until March 15th. The Georgia Viaduct opened this morning and the Dunsmuir viaduct opens tomorrow but both will close again on the 12th for the Paralympic opening ceremonies.

Meanwhile, the decommissioning process for venues not needed for the Paralympics will take anywhere from a week to several months.
