B.C. Lions Head Coach is staying long term

VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) – The B.C. Lions Head Coach, Wally Buono, has extened his contract with the club to the end of the 2013 season.  Buono enters his eighth season with the Lions after leading the club to seven playoff appearances, five consecutive appearances in the west final and a crossover visit to the east final as well as a Grey Cup championship in 2006.

In 2009 Buono passed Don Matthews’ 232 victories to become the all time leader in coaching wins and now has 235 enter the 2010 season.  Wally is also the Lions’ leader in career wins as head coach with 82. Buono has won the CFL’s coach of the year award three times.
