VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) – Be extra careful what you believe today. We’re taking a look at some of the best ever April Fool’s Day jokes.
Arguably the year to beat is 1998. That’s when Burger King announced its left-handed Whopper, with ingredients rotated 180 degrees. After the release, right-handed customers started asking for the “Original”.
Also that year there was a supposed change to the value of Pi. Instead of 3.14159, it would be the Biblical value of 3. It was intended to be a parody of anti-evolution Alabama State legislation, but was one of the first April Fool’s Day jokes to spread significantly by email.
Others over the years: Swiss Spaghetti trees, the Taco Liberty Bell, flying penguins and the discovery of the body of the Loch Ness Monster.
