CALIFORNIA (NEWS1130) – They’re holding on for a miracle. Crews hope to get to the peak of Mount Shasta this morning to rescue a UBC grad suffering from altitude sickness.
Thomas Bennett is in a snowcave, and was last seen alive over the weekend. Bennett’s hiking buddy had to leave him behind to go for help on Sunday.
Crews have made several attempts to get to the 26 year old, but bad storms along the California-Oregon border have made it hard for the rescue helicopter to get to Bennett’s location.
