FERNDALE, WASHINGTON (NEWS1130) – Ferndale, Washington is giving the green light to a ‘big box store zone’ – something that may appeal to Canadian shoppers looking to take advantage of our high dollar.
Ferndale has approved the development, just off the freeway, that would provide up to 100,000 square feet of retail space. It’s a ten minute drive down the I-5 from the Peace Arch crossing.
“It’s closer to the Canadian border than either Bellingham or Burlington. In addition, the property itself is adjacent to Interstate Five so the ease of access is so much greater,” says Jori Burnett with the City of Ferndale.
It’s expected the development will attract big name tenants like Walmart.
