Surrey woman charged in “murder for hire” case

DELTA (NEWS1130) – Delta Police have arrested a 45-year-old woman in a “murder for hire” case. Two counts of counselling to commit murder have been laid against Amarjit Lally of Surrey.

Delta Police Constable Sharlene Brooks says they received information back in January that a “murder for hire” scheme was being hatched.  “What I can tell you is the victims were known to Miss Lally and police believe the motive behind this is money.”

Brooks says the intended victims were notified and received police protection during the investigation. She says police don’t want to identify them to protect them from any additional problems.

Lally is due back in court on Wednesday.
