VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) – Friday is Vimy Ridge Day but a new survey suggests Canadians don’t know a lot about the First World War.
A poll done for the Historica-Dominion Institute finds more than half of us weren’t even aware November 11th or Remembrance Day marked the end of the conflict. Nearly one-quarter couldn’t identify Germany as one of Canada’s main opponents in the war. But nine out of 10 Canadians do agree it is important to commemorate our military history.
