VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) – It’s finally official! Game one of the second round playoff series in Chicago starts Saturday at 5 p.m. PT.
The Canucks returned to the ice today, after two days of off-ice workouts. They practice at home Thursday as well, before flying to Chicago. Roberto Luongo was not on the ice with the rest of the team, instead he had a one-on-one session with goal tending coach Ian Clark after the full-squad workout.
Last year the Blackhawks eliminated Vancouver in the second round. The two teams split their season series two games apiece, with the Canucks outscoring Chicago 11-10. Both teams won their respective Western Conference divisions (Northwest – Canucks, Central – Chicago).
The Vancouver Canucks started their day by announcing the signing of Vancouver Giants defenceman Kevin Connauton to an entry-level contract.
