Burish: “The Canucks really piss me off”

VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) – Game three between the Canucks and Blackhawks could have a little extra level of chippiness tonight.  With the series tied at one game apiece, one member of the Hawks has gone public with his distaste for the Canucks.

Game-day practices aren’t normally a fountain of inflammatory quotes from players to media, but assembled reporters got a gem this morning after Chicago’s workout.  Hawks abrasive forward Adam Burish, who has had a number of minor skirmishes with Vancouver players in the first two games, says, “The Canucks really piss me off!”

The feeling is probably mutual, but the Canucks aren’t saying, at least on the record.  Burish also scoffed at complaints about some Hawks’ players trying to use their physical play to upset Canucks goaltender Roberto Luongo. “If they can’t handle that, then figure skate.”

The Canucks skated after the Blackhawks, and while coach Alain Vigneault says he’s happy to go with the same lineup as game two, there could be a lineup change tonight.  Ryan Johnson who is back from an injury skated with the fourth line in today’s practice, and says he’ll be playing tonight.  Vigneault did not confirm that.

News1130 will have goal-by-goal and period-by-period updates throughout tonight’s game, including reports from Ann Schmaltz at GM Place.  Game time is 6:30 p.m.
