KANDAHAR, Afghanistan – Another Canadian soldier has been killed in Afghanistan.  Trooper Larry Rudd, 26, of Brantford, Ontario was killed by an improvised explosive device at 12:30 p.m. local time today near the village of Salavat, about 20 kilometres southwest of Kandahar city.

His death is the fourth of a Canadian military member in Afghanistan this month.  It comes less than a week after Col. Geoff Parker was killed in a suicide car bombing in Kabul last Tuesday.  It also brings to 146 the total number of Canadian military personnel who have died as part of the Afghan mission since it began in 2002.
