Vancouver city councillor critical of federal government, after G8/G20 protests

VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) – The violence that came with the G8 and G20 summits in Toronto likely has more than one city official reconsidering being host to an international conference.

Vancouver city councillor David Cadman says he’s not opposed to the idea having a summit here.

“I don’t have a problem hosting events, but the national government has to work more collaboratively with the venues where they want to host these events. The national government took no advice from the City of Toronto about where the summits would best be held,” he says.

The G20 and G8 summits will head to Seoul, South Korea in November.
