Hwy 1 and 176th Street cordoned off in Surrey over a possible break and enter

SURREY (NEWS1130) – An area near Highway 1 and 176th Street has been cordoned off by the RCMP. There is about about a dozen police cars scattered in both directions in the area, as police are looking for a suspect connected to an earlier break and enter.

Surrey Mounties have a home surrounded on an acreage on 179th Street. Two homes on either side of the house have been evacuated as a precaution because police have reason to believe the suspect may be armed. They are now waiting for a search warrant before entering the home.

The 97th Avenue is blocked off from 179th to 178th Street, but 96th Avenue is still open for drivers to take.

More details to follow.
