VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) – Canada has some new citizens in its midst today. Seventy-one people have taken the oath of citizenship in downtown Vancouver.
They come from almost 40 countries across the globe and join our 34-million-strong team. After the citizenship ceremony, B.C.’s Lieutenant Governor Steven Point told the crowd they’ve chosen well. “Where ever Canada is, go and take a look there. Explore the country and where ever possible participate in what’s going on. And keep it all clean. I like remind people of that, you know? Keep it nice.” The new Canadians were also reminded to embrace English and French.
