Self-employed people are happy people

VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) – The secret to being happy might be ‘owning your own business.’ More than 90 per cent of small business owners in B.C. describe themselves as happy people.
“We were surprised because everyone knows it’s been a bit rocky out there,” says Alec Morley with TD Canada Trust, which commissioned the Environics poll, referring to the toll the unstable economy is taking on small business owners.
So what’s making these small business owners so happy?
“You get to be your own boss, you get to set your own schedule,” he says.
The survey of about 1,200 small business owners across North America was completed in May, and included companies with no more than 50 employees.
