Teenagers rescued from cliff

By

VANCOUVER(NEWS1130) – Two 16-year-old girls are safe and sound after getting pulled off the cliff above Wreck Beach Thursday evening.

Fire crews were called when the teenagers found they couldn’t go forward or back after looking for a quick way to the top.

RCMP Corporal Robert Ploughman says it’s a reminder that the area can be very dangerous.  “That cliff face is unstable in parts plus there’s a lot of unofficial trails and animal trails that people can get lost on so a very dangerous thing to do. We certainly recommend that people using Wreck Beach stay as far away from that cliff as possible and not climb up it.”

The teens were taken to B.C. Children’s Hospital to be checked over.
