Fight over horrific supermarket stench ends

By

VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) – A two-year battle over a sickening stench has come to a sweet smelling resolution.  A group of people managed to get a stinky supermarket to clean up its act.

Sharing a living space with T&T Supermarket wasn’t a pleasant experience for Sean Bickerton and his neighbours.  “It was really awful.  There was pigeon manure that had just built up over the years.”

Bickerton lives in Paris Place, which is a mixture of commercial and residential property on Keefer and Abbott Streets.  “It was kind of inhuman, the conditions that were existing.  We had a woman faint.”

Some of Bickerton’s neighbours even set up a website.  However, he says after two years of venting his frustration, the problem is finally fixed.  “It’s an extraordinary, very high tech, very environmentally friendly solution they’ve come up with for dealing with all their organic waste.”

Bickerton adds his building now smells great, and the website has been taken down.  He explains the grocery store was very cooperative throughout the whole process.
