SQUAMISH (NEWS1130) – Mounties may have called off the search for a hiker missing near Squamish, but Tyler Wright’s family and friends are continuing on.

Wright’s brother-in-law Ricky Hebert says they’ll never give up their search for him.  “Ty’s a very passionate person who would not let anything get in his way.  He’s been able to overcome lots of obstacles in his life and we’re holding on to hope that he’s still out there and he’s waiting for us to find him.  We’ve decided, as a family, to keep looking.”

Wright was last seen 12 days ago, after telling friends he was going on a four or five day spiritual journey on the Boise Creek trail to Pitt Lake.

RCMP say they checked more than 100 locations and the case is now considered a missing persons file.  Wright’s family say with the warm weather and abundant food and water sources, a person could survive a long time in the mountains.
