VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) – Vancouver Canucks fans are the ones being penalized in a scrap between Rogers and Shaw. There’s an on-going fight over 13 hockey games that, so far, are not being aired on local TV.
The two companies are going hard in the corner! Those 13 games will be available on Sportsnet Vancouver Hockey, but never mind because it’s not available.
It’s a companion station of Rogers Sportsnet One, which is only on Rogers Cable, which we don’t get in Western Canada. Shaw will only say they are “in negotiations.”
If you feel like you just got run over by Harold Snepsts, SFU Marketing professor Lindsey Meredith says Shaw probably feels the same way. He explains “a premium sports package” will be put up by Telus or Shaw.
Any bets on whether that will be free with your current cable package? Not likely.
Rogers is the parent company of News1130.
