Disturbing Internet chatter regarding rape victim

PITT MEADOWS (NEWS1130) – As if the story of a possible gang rape in Pitt Meadows could get anymore disturbing.
People in the community are reacting to the different version of events being told online.
Only hours after disturbing pictures were posted on Facebook, teens were already suggesting the victim was a willing participant and asked for it. They also suggested that there was plenty of sex at the party.
People in Pitt Meadows call it all a troubling example of an Internet environment where anything goes and there are no consequences. One woman says, “The punishments need to be harder. They need to say this isn’t okay anymore and that we are going to put our foot down.”
Police are appalled by the Internet chatter and remind people the victim is a 16-year-old girl.
