Giants put on a show in season opener

VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) – The Vancouver Giants scored six straight goals to beat the Chilliwack Bruins 9-4 in their home opener at the Pacific Coliseum.

It was a goal scoring clinic from both the Giants and Bruins in the second period with both teams combining for eight goals. Bruins forward Ryan Howse scored a hat trick in the loss.

Vancouver Giants goals came from James Henry, Dalton Sward, Brendan Gallagher (2), Marek Tvrdon (2), Jordan Martinook, Matt MacKay and newly named captain Craig Cunningham.

Vancouver outshot Chilliwack 45-29 through three periods and now travel to Everett for a game against the Silvertips on Saturday.
