VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) –  The Vancouver Canucks have assigned ten players to their Manitoba Moose American Hockey League farm team including forward Jordan Schroeder. The former first round draft pick had challenged for one of the few forward positions left available.

The list includes Mario Bliznak, Aaron Volpatti, Prab Rai, Chris Tanev, Sean Zimmerman,  Nolan Baumgartner, Kevin Connauton, and Evan Oberg.  The Moose open their AHL training camp Monday at Winnipeg’s MTS Centre.  The Canucks host San Jose Tuesday night at Rogers Arena.

Meanwhile, goaltender Roberto Luongo missed practice  Monday after tweaking his groin in Saturday’s 4-1 win over the Anaheim Ducks.  He’ll re-join the team at practice Wednesday or Thursday and is expected to play in the team’s final exhibition game Friday in Anaheim.
