Canucks drop the Ducks

VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) – The Vancouver Canucks beat the Anaheim Ducks 4-2 to wrap up their pre-season.

Mason Raymond opened up the scoring in the first period with a short-handed goal to give the Canucks the lead after 20 minutes.

In the second, Anaheim equalized on the power-play but then Alex Edler scored on a rocket from the point with the man advantage to give the Canucks a 2-1 lead.

In the third period, the Ducks were able to tie the game again but on another powerplay Henrik Sedin scored the winner for Vancouver.

Ryan Kesler added an empty net goal late in the period to give the Canucks a two goal win.

Vancouver opens up its regular season on October 9th against the Los Angeles Kings at Rogers Arena.
