Canucks trade Hordichuk

VANCOUVER(NEWS1130) – The Vancouver Canucks have made their second NHL trade of the week, sending forward Darcy Hordichuk to the Florida Panthers for winger Andrew Peters. Hordichuk had been placed on waivers by the Canucks on Monday, along with defenseman Shane O’Brien who was sent to Nashville on Tuesday.

The rugged Hordichuk played three seasons with Vancouver, registering one goal and one assist in 56 games in 2009-10.

Peters, drafted 34th overall by the Buffalo Sabres in the 1998 NHL Entry Draft, is not being added for his goal scoring. The 30 year old had no points and 93 penalty minutes in 29 games with the New Jersey Devils last season.

The Devils bought out Peters’ contract in June and he was signed by Florida in August.
