Canada wraps up Commonwealth Games

NEW DELHI (NEWS1130) – Cyclist Tara Whitten of Edmonton carried the Canadian Flag into Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in New Delhi, as the 2010 Commonwealth Games came to a close.

The 30-year-old was given the honour of leading our athletes into the closing ceremonies after winning four medals; one gold and three bronze.

Canada finished fourth in the medal count, with 26 gold and 75 total medals, behind Australia, India and England.

The games were officially handed over to Glasgow, for the 2014 event, held in Scotland.
