Abbotsford Heat host Rockford in home opener

ABBOTSFORD (NEWS1130) – After starting the season on the road and putting up a 2-1 record, the Abbotsford Heat are back in the Valley for their home opener.

The Flames affiliate welcomes the Rockford Ice Hogs to the Abbotsford Entertainment and Sports Centre. The Ice Hogs (the Blackhawks farm team) will be dealing with Carter Bancks, who is tied for the AHL scoring lead.

Heat Assistant Coach Troy Ward knows his team is young, but so is Rockford. “They’ve got a good group of guys, and it’s also the organization that won the Stanley Cup in the Chicago Blackhawks, so a lot of the guys have matured and moved up to the NHL team.”

The puck drops at 7 p.m.
