Former cop pleads guilty to trafficking marijuana

VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) – A former Vancouver cop will be sentenced for marijuana trafficking and two breach of trust charges next spring. Peter Hodson entered a guilty plea on those charges yesterday.

Maximum sentences on each of the charges is five years. But the Crown’s Neil MacKenzie says he can’t say if the rogue officer is getting a sentencing deal.

“The plea that’s been entered was the result of discussions that have taken place between Crown and counsel for Mr. Hodson, but I can’t get into specifics,” explains MacKenzie.

Hodson was arrested and fired this past April, following a two month investigation. He has a three-day sentencing hearing schedule to begin June 1, 2011.
