Trevor Linden among new Order of Canada recipients

OTTAWA (NEWS1130) – Former Vancouver Canuck Trevor Linden is one of 54 new recipients of the Order of Canada. Linden is being honoured for his leadership on and off the ice.
Celebrity chef Jamie Kennedy of Toronto is also a new member of the order, which recognizes outstanding service to Canada. He is cited for promotion of Canadian cuisine and the use of organic, sustainable and local food.
Other recipients include retired Calgary oilman Gwyn Morgan and former Bank of Montreal CEO Tony Comper, who was honoured along with his wife for their volunteer work.
More than 5,000 people have been invested into the order since the award was established in 1967.
