Baby chicks stomped to death during Abbotsford theft

ABBOTSFORD (NEWS1130) – One hundred and fifty chickens have been trampled to death at a farm in Abbotsford.

It happened during a metal-theft from a farm in Bradner earlier this week. Constable Ian MacDonald says the thieves stomped the baby chicks while grabbing the metal wherever they could find it.

He tells us, “It didn’t appear that the thieves had any regard for the lives of the livestock… in this case, poultry that were inside the barn.”

They also took metal from the water line. MacDonald says fortunately, some of the water was frozen; otherwise, it could have flooded the rest of the livestock.
