VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) – With a a lot of people looking for new jobs this new year, we’re talking with an expert about the biggest mistakes you can make during an interview.
Peter Harris with Workopolis says, “Interviews are always very much about first impressions.”
He tells us even though you might be tempted to complain about your old boss, just don’t do it. “Everybody changes jobs, we’ve all moved on from role to role. And all you have to say is ‘It was time to move on, another opportunity came along, I learned all I could from that company.’ But you have to be positive.”
Make sure you research the company beforehand so you’re prepared. Harris adds you should get to the interview early, turn off your cellphone, and dress appropriately.
