DENVER, CO. (NEWS1130) – Injuries are hitting the Vancouver Canucks hard on their current five game road trip. For the second game in a row, a Canucks defenceman left with an injury.
On Friday, it was Aaron Rome in Washington as he suffered an MCL sprain in his knee. In Minnesota Sunday, midway through the first period, defenceman Andrew Alberts hurt his shoulder and did not return to the game. He’s not expected to play Tuesday in Colorado against the Avalanche.
Defenceman Chris Tanev has been recalled from Manitoba as an insurance policy with Rome out.
Up front, the Canucks have lost forward Alex Bolduc, he’s expected to miss a month with a seperated shoulder he suffered during a game against the Washington Capitals. He’ll have and MRI in Vancouver later this week.
The Canucks should be calling up a forward this week to fill in for Bolduc. Sergei Shirokov or Viktor Oreskovich are two possible candidates.
Vancouver wraps up their five game road trip in Colorado Tuesday night.
