Packers vs. Steeles at Super Bowl

By

Super Bowl XLV is set, with the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Green Bay Packers set for a showdown on Sunday, Feb. 6.

It’s the first time the two teams have met for the title. Pittsburgh has six Super Bowl wins, while Green Bay has three.

The newspaper front pages say it all. The Green Bay Gazette simply reads, “Super Bowl bound,” while the Pittsburgh Times-Gazette said, “Steelers at the Gates of 7.”

The history and tradition of the Steelers and the Packers bring an interesting backdrop to this year’s championship.

Some fans are calling it an “old school” Super Bowl given Pittsburgh’s glory days of the 1970’s and Green Bay’s proud history in the ’60s.

Vegas odds-makers are giving the Packers the edge by two-and-a-half points in the Super Bowl.
