VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) – The Mountie who saved a teen girl from being hit by a sandtruck early yesterday morning says he is amazed at the outpouring of support from the public.
Constable Jim Moir pushed 15-year-old Buffy-Anne Troy out of the way of a sandtruck saving her life, but suffered a crushed leg when he was pinned up against another truck on the side of Highway One.
The girl was not injured, but Moir had to undergo reconstructive surgery on his leg. He is currently resting in hospital and is in good spirits.
Well-wishers are invited to sign an e-card for Constable Moir on the BC RCMP’s Facebook page.
