Giants take on Blazers

By

WHITEHORSE, YK (NEWS1130) – The Vancouver Giants are on the road to face the Kamloops Blazers, but this time around there will be no home ice advantage for either team.

The Giants and Blazers are in Whitehorse to celebrate CBC’s Hockey Day in Canada.  This is the first time a regular-season WHL game will be played in the territory.  However, it’s not the first time the WHL has ventured north.  The Lethbridge Hurricanes and Kootenay Ice staged a pair of exhibition contests in Yellowknife, Northwest Territory in 2005.

The Giants continue to hold down first place in the BC Division leading the Kelowna Rockets by two points, however, the Rockets do hold two games in hand.  Vancouver has been red-hot over its last 10 games holding an 8-2 record.  Kamloops, on the other hand, has struggled over its last 10 games going 3-6-1.

Game time is 4 p.m.
