Vancouver Giants host division rival Kelowna

By

VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) – A home game with the Kelowna Rockets begins a key stretch of games for the Vancouver Giants in their attempt to capture the Western Hockey League’s BC Division.

The Giants have a two point lead on the second place Rockets with 16 games left in the regular season. The teams have split their first four games and will meet four more times before the regular season is over, including a rematch in Kelowna on Saturday.

The Giants need to win the division to earn the right to open the WHL playoffs on home ice. If they don’t, they could be forced to open the post-season on the road against a tough US Division team.

The Giants have a favourable schedule down the stretch, which includes 10 of their last 16 at the Coliseum. Game time tonight is 7 p.m.
