Canucks downed by Bruins 3-1

VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) – East Vancouver product Milan Lucic was in on all three Boston Bruin goals in a 3-1 win over the Canucks. Lucic had the game winner with just under five minutes left and added two assists.
It was a banner weekend for Lucic. He was put into the Vancouver Giants ring of honour at the Pacific Coliseum on Friday night.
Manny Malhotra had the only Vancouver goal. It was his second goal in as many games.
Tim Thomas won the battle of the goaltenders. The Boston goalie stopped 27 pucks, while Roberto Luongo had 22 saves, losing his fourth game in five starts.
The Canucks still have a one point lead on Philadelphia for the overall lead in the NHL. The Flyers have a game in hand. Vancouver has a five point bulge on second place Detroit in the Western Conference. The Wings also have a game in hand.
