The Canucks go for fourth straight win in San Jose tonight

By

SAN JOSE, CAL (NEWS1130) – The Canucks play game four of their five game road trip in San Jose tonight against the Sharks, who are 9-1 in their past ten games.

Vancouver has won the first three games of this road trip with wins in Los Angeles, Anaheim, and Phoenix.

This is the third meeting of the season between the two teams. Two of the three games played so far have gone Vancouver’s way. The Sharks’ lone win came at Rogers Arena on Jan. 20th when they won 2-1 in a shootout.

After one game, Victor Oreskovich is headed back to Winnipeg to rejoin the Manitoba Moose. That means Mason Raymond should be ready to go for the Canucks tonight after missing the Coyotes game with a shoulder injury.

Newcommer Chris Higgins was skating with the fourth line yesterday, likely meaning Jeff Tambellini, who was filling in for Raymond on the second line, will be a scratch against the Sharks.

Cory Schneider gets the start in goal for Vancouver. His last start was Sunday when he was shutting out the Ducks in Anaheim. He’s 1-1-0 with a 5.99 GAA in two career starts versus the Sharks.

San Jose’s Antti Niemi is 9-1-0 with a 1.74 goals-against average in his last 10 starts, but has a 3.60 GAA in three games against Vancouver this season.

Game time is 7:30 p.m.
