The Canucks kick off a four-game road trip in Detroit

DETROIT, MICH (NEWS1130) – The Canucks kick off a four-game road trip in Detroit against the Red Wings tonight.Vancouver leads Detroit by eight points atop the Western Conference standings.

It’s the last meeting of the regular season between the two teams, and the last chance for the Canucks to get a split of the four games. It’s also a chance for them to win six straight road games for the first time since December of 2006.

Defenseman Kevin Bieksa returns to the Vancouver lineup after missing 15 games with a broken foot.

Forward Mikael Samuelsson  will not play as he is out with a lower body injury.

The Canucks have called up two players from Manitoba to play on the fourth line, Victor Oreskovich and Alexander Bolduc.

The Red Wings are without injured players Pavel Datsyuk, Johan Franzen, Jiri Hudler and Todd Bertuzzi tonight, but coach Mike Babcock conceded they’d all be playing if this was a playoff game.

Game time is 4:30 p.m.
