HOUSTON,TX (NEWS1130) – Kemba Walker scored a game-high 16 points to lead the UConn Huskies to a 53-41 win over the Butler Bulldogs in the NCAA National Basketball Championship.

The Huskies outscored the Bulldogs 34-19 over the final 20 minutes to win their first title since 2004.

The win was the third national title for UConn head coach Jim Calhoun. He joins John Wooden, Adolph Rupp, Mike Krzyzewski and Bob Knight as the only coaches to win three titles. At the age of 68, Calhoun became the oldest coach to win a NCAA national championship.

The Huskies go 14-0 in tournament play throughout the season, going undefeated at the Maui Invitational, the Big East tournament and in the NCAA tournament.
