Canucks try and get back on winning track

EDMONTON, AB (NEWS1130) – The Vancouver Canucks wrap up their home and home series with the Oilers in Edmonton tonight, one of nine games on the NHL Tuesday night schedule.

The Oilers won the first of the back-to-back games on Saturday night by a 4-1 score.

It’s also the sixth and final meeting of the season between the two teams.

It’s the best against the worst tonight as Vancouver leads the League with a franchise-best 113 points on the season, but Edmonton has the fewest points with 59.

Vancouver has just three regular season games left and they’ve lost only two games in their last 14 contests.

The Canucks are getting healthier as forward Mikael Samuelsson will play tonight.  He missed six games with an abdominal injury.

Defencemen Alexander Edler (back) and Andrew Alberts (wrist) are practicing with the team again, but remain on the IR.  Edler is looking good to return from back surgery Thursday at home against the Minnesota Wild.

Dan Hamhuis skated before the Canucks practiced yesterday, he picked up his second concussion of the season eight days ago in Columbus against the Blue Jackets.

The puck drops at 6 p.m.
