Marc Emery denied jail transfer

VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) – ‘Prince of Pot’ Marc Emery has been denied a transfer to a Canadian jail. The US shot that application down today, but Emery’s supporters are vowing to exhaust every option to ensure his swift return to Canada.

Emery’s wife Jodie says his request was rejected because of the seriousness of his crimes. “He can only apply again in two years, and two years from now, he will only have about a year and a half left of his sentence or two years, depending on his good behavior. So this is pretty devastating.”

Jodie says Marc is in Oklahoma waiting to be transferred to a medium-security prison in Mississippi.

The well-known local pot activist is serving a five-year sentence in a jail in Georgia for conspiracy to manufacture pot, after he was caught selling seeds online and then extradited.
