Pink Bus rolls into Metro Vancouver

VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) – Watch out for the Pink Bus around Metro Vancouver! The Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation hits the road today.

Judy Caldwell is with the BC chapter of the foundation and says women can get info about screening and sign up for mammograms right on the bus.

“There are some interactive displays there that people can have a quick look at to see if the myths than we carry about breast cancer are still valid, which they are not. So there is a lot there to have a look at.”

Caldwell says the program works. “This is a tax-paid program. It’s a program that we know statistically can save lives. It takes virtually no time.”

She says the Pink Bus won’t just go around the Lower Mainland. People who live in the more rural areas of the province and who may not have access to this information will also see the bus in their neighbourhoods.
