Canucks hoping to seal the deal tomorrow in Nashville

VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) – They were so close — but still couldn’t pull it off. The Canucks dropped Game Five with a 4-3 loss to the Predators last night at Rogers Arena.

That means News1130’s Sports Director Ann Schmaltz is boarding a flight back to Nashville again. She says we should expect the Canucks to come out hard tomorrow night.

“I can’t imagine that this group wants to return to Vancouver for a Wednesday night Game Seven,” she says. “That would be two series pushed to the limits. I know that they’re probably disappointed and frustrated they didn’t finish it off in Game Five. But they’ve just got to focus.”

Schmaltz adds the team is pretty banged up right now. “Mikael Samuelsson will not be travelling. He’s staying back in Vancouver. He was injured late in the first period last night. Look for Victor Oreskovich to probably draw into the line-up.”

Game Six is tomorrow at 5 p.m.; Ann will have live updates at the end of each period, and we’ll break in every time a goal is scored.
