VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) – Wine show host Terry David Mulligan says today’s the day for a vintage protest. He’s risking arrest to fight a prohibition-era law banning the transportation of alcohol across provincial boundaries.
Mulligan plans to carry a case of BC wine into Alberta. He argues the 1928 law harms small wineries by allowing provinces to enforce lucrative monopolies.
He hopes to be the first person ever charged under the law, so it can be challenged in court.
