Strange tweets pop up from Transit Police’s account

METRO VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) – Metro Vancouver’s Transit Police are blaming hackers for some bizarre tweets that were posted yesterday.

According to the Vancouver Sun, the series of strange messages from the @TransitPolice account included one that read: “OMG, you are in a hospital. You should be. Really life on transit is not like you portray.”

Minutes later, another message read “Oh, okay now we see your true colours, you just hate all police. You should be able to do what you want, when you want.”

“Its best to use AH against AH,” “U r truly a confused person,” and “Go canucks” were other examples.

All the mysterious tweets were deleted within a few hours, but not after some other Twitter users fired back at the police with their own messages like “Is a 12-year old running their PR department?”

Around 9:30 this morning, the force tweeted an apology “for inappropriate postings late yesterday. Seems we were hacked. Taking steps to avoid it in the future.”
