Transport truck carrying fertilizer flips over on Highway 416

OTTAWA – The 416 northbound on-ramp at Bankfield Road remains closed as crews continue to clean up after a tractor trailer overturned at about 3 p.m. Tuesday afternoon.

The truck was carrying dry fertilizer when it flipped over, spilling it’s contents onto the grass. Ottawa Fire called in the Hazmat unit as a precaution when diesel fuel started to leak from the truck.

There were no reports of injuries.

The Bankfield Road on-ramp remains closed to all traffic and the OPP are asking motorists to avoid the area.
